SECRET ISLAND NATION #7
4 -7 AUG 2011 – an island near HAVSTENSSUND, Sweden
SIN is a 4-day festival on an extremely beautiful, lonely island in the west-Swedish archipelago. From 4-7 Aug the utopian nation SWEUTSCHLAND will be founded, where its “citizens” define and live according their own rules. Everything is built from scratch in a joint effort and the program is accompanied by finest electronic (mostly) music on two floors by more than 30 very international artists. But bear in mind, this is the roughest part of the Swedish west coast, weather and thus our plans will change or go wrong, expect the unexpected, or, as Luis, our boat shuttle captain claims: “SIN is the worst thing that ever happened to me! But it’s also the best thing that ever happened to me!”.

PROGRAM
Secret Island Nation aka Sweutschland offers the opportunity to realize more than “just a great festival”. We have experienced a very strong sense of community, love, helpfulness, open-mindedness…some special kind of vibe during the last 6 years. Therefrom, the idea of founding our own nation evolved.
Nobody working or performing at SIN has ever been paid a DJ fee or salary, nor has any profit been made or commercial sponsors have been involved. SIN doesn’t want to teach you, doesn’t have a mission or doctrine. The aim is to inspire ourselves to a better way of living together, instead of simply complaining about “Babylon”. SIN is seeks to inspire, to motivate to become more conscious, positive and active members of “the system”. Sweutschland offers the platform for realizing and testing new social ideas but its “citizens” decide about the content.
Our team has prepared several projects, creative actions and workshops along the musical program, some of them serious, some of them absurd or even ridiculous. However, we would love to have YOU participate actively and to offer your knowledge, wisdom, skills, whatever – if you would like to contribute to the program, please contact manuela@vanillaway.net. If your idea is pretty cool, we might even have a small budget for the realization of it to support you.
